Speed and Transport Options

LAN ISDN

Provides economical Internet access to businesses with local area networks (LANs) that have relatively basic usage requirements. ISDN connection supports speeds up to 128Kbps. For locations with low to medium usage, you can enjoy the convenience and speed of a dedicated access service at a fraction of the price.

DS1

Sets the standard for reliable, digital connections for relatively high volume requirements. Operating at 1.544 Mbps, DS1 service lets you combine voice and data traffic, link remote hosts, and increase productivity with data-intensive applications like videoconferencing.

DS3

Offers you the next step up if you are currently using multiple DS1s. DS3 is the reliable, all-purpose, digital connection for extremely high-volume requirements. Operating at 45Mbps (equivalent to 28 DS1 circuits or 672 DS0 channels), DS3 can provide a cost-effective solution for consolidating your existing DS1 voice, video, and data traffic.

Burstable DS1 & DS3

Work similarly to the dedicated versions of these products. The only real difference between burstable DS1 & DS3 and their dedicated counterparts is the way they are billed. AT&T Internet Services(ATTIS) monitors the line and takes samples of the bandwidth usage every 15 minutes. At the end of the month, all of the data points are charted on a graph.

Then, our software calculates the point on the graph where 95% of the traffic was below and 5% of the traffic was above that point. This bandwidth figure enables us to accurately bill you for the month. "Burstable" products are advantageous if you lack consistent usage or are unsure of the volume of usage to expect.

Tiered DS3

Offers fractional DS3 port options on a tiered basis, from 5 Mbps to a full DS3. These are static amounts of bandwidth that offer the flexibility to make changes without having to provision additional access circuits.

Frame Relay Service

Offers one of the most cost-effective ways to get dedicated access to the Internet. Frame Relay's digital quality ensures high-speed, high-quality Internet access.

Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM)

Helps networks process data with the most efficient method of data transmission to date—cell relay, a fast-packet switching technology. ATM combines the reliability of circuit switching with the efficiency of packet switching, giving you the best way to deliver all types of diverse traffic—data, image, voice, and video.

Ethernet DIA (EDIA)

Offers connectivity to the Internet through the transport product GigaMAN. GigaMAN and EDIA meet all of the requirements of the IEEE 802.3z gigabit Ethernet standard.

And since Ethernet connectivity is used in 97% of businesses Local Area Networks, this means it is not only cost effective for large bandwidth applications but is also easy to adopt and manage in most existing networks. GigaMAN is a point-to-point, full duplex service. GigaMAN will operate at the maximum distance allowed based on facilities availability and network capabilities. Ethernet Dedicated Internet Access is available in increments of 5Mbps, between a minimum of 40Mbps and a maximum of 1Gbps. A burstable option is also available to give full circuit capacity on demand, at a cost based on normal period average usage.

OC12 Point-to-Point (Packet Over SONET)

Synchronous Optical Network is an underlying dedicated transport service that allows you to transmit high volumes of information between locations. As with the other DIA options, one of the terminating locations is the AT&T Inter POP (Point of Presence).

OC12 Dedicated Internet Access is available in increments of 5Mbps, between a minimum of 175Mbps and a maximum of 620Mbps. A burstable option is also available to give full circuit capacity on demand at a cost based on normal period average usage.
